I was awakened this morning
by the sound of the city bus
I was supposed to be on
I took it as a sign
of impending adventure
that I should be jumping upon
and as I put on my hiking boots
I tried not to think or look back
and I prayed to the Lord
for all of the courage
that my spirit seemed to lack
