lying to me
the sky is blue and the grass is green
and it's the nicest morning I've ever seen
it's a good time to be a human being
but it feels like it's lying to me
people are friendly and people are kind
they give you attention and some of their time
nobody's showing you a piece of their mind
it feels like they're lying to me
you can't judge a book by its cover
that's something I hear people say
but everything I see is the other
side of reality getting its way
somebody loves you, they're telling you so
with kisses and soft words that you've never known
but don't mistake it for being your home
it feels like they're lying to me
you can't judge a film by its poster
you can't tell the time by the stars
it may feel like you're getting closer
but you're staying right where you are
the sky is blue and the trees are tall
everyone is included, each one of us all
you can climb high, there's no chance you can fall
and it feels like it's lying to me
and it feels like it's lying to me
