cowboy haiku (for Ken Graydon)

weathered cowboy hat
words that speak of western truth
with a golden voice

across the miles
of a many-colored land
he sang of windmills

and farmers and sky
the words and the melodies
flow like mountain streams

believing in grace
while dancing around campfires:
Ken Graydon, our friend
